The Unprecedented Pace Of Change

In many ways, our lives have been put on pause by the pandemic as we continue to shelter in place. Working remotely has many employees feeling stuck in a perpetual state of limbo as the boundaries between work and life blur. Many of life’s momentous occasions, such as weddings, holiday gatherings and birthday celebrations, have been abandoned. For some, life has taken a step back — over a third of younger millennials have moved back home with their parents.

In these times, however, I am reminded by a quote from Dov Seidman: “When you press the pause button on a machine, it stops. But when you press the pause button on human beings they start — start to reflect, rethink assumptions, and reimagine a better path.” Rather than stopping in the face of the pandemic, many aspects of our lives have accelerated at an unprecedented pace, driven by the rapid adoption of technology.
